Dear
Parents/Guardians/Students and Staff,
I
am writing to you regarding the school’s plan, should a need arise, to address
coronavirus (COVID-19) and the continuity of instruction. Teachers will be
posting information to their blogs that will keep families updated on the school’s
actions relative to the instructional program. Teachers will also discuss
strategies for the continuity of instruction when they meet at the next faculty
meeting on March 6th. Families are encouraged to visit teacher blogs for
continued communications.
The
World Health Organization, National Center for Disease Control, New Jersey
Department of Health (NJDOH) and Bergen County Department of Health have been
responding with information on the Novel Coronavirus that was first identified
in Wuhan, China. I encourage families to visit these organizational websites
for the most accurate and up to date information on the virus. The CDC and
World Health Organization will continue to closely monitor the situation
providing on-going guidance. In addition, the NJDOH has established a hotline
(1-800-222-1222) to answer questions about the coronavirus (COVID-19). This
24-hour public hotline, operated by the Poison Information and Education
System, is staffed with trained healthcare professionals who can accommodate
callers in multiple languages.
The
NJDOH is also reporting widespread influenza (flu) activity in all regions of
the state. They have issued action steps for schools and childcare centers to
follow with regard to monitoring students and staff and have stated that
schools should follow standard procedures for routine cleaning and
disinfecting. Staying informed and taking everyday preventive actions are
always recommended to minimize the spread of viruses.

The
health and safety of our students and staff will remain the school's top
priority, and we will continue to work cooperatively with the Archdiocese,
NJDOH and BCDOH to ensure timely communications.
Thank
you for your support of, and faith in, our efforts to ensure a positive school
experience for all.
Sincerely,
Dr.
